Wasafiri National Portfolio Status renewed by Arts Council England

Wasafiri has been successful in renewing its National Portfolio Status with Arts Council England, with funding confirmed for 2018-22.

Wasafiri Founding Editor Susheila Nasta said,

‘Wasafiri is delighted to announce that its exciting programme of work has been successful in being awarded National Portfolio Funding from the Arts Council of England. Wasafiri, is renowned for its role in promoting a diverse literary culture both in the UK and across the world. We are proud that our continuing commitment to platforming the best of tomorrow’s writers today and bringing excellence to a wide range of different audiences has achieved this recognition. In today’s increasingly polarised and soon-to-be Brexit world, the work Wasafiri began in 1984 when it was one of the first publications to profile Black, Asian and diasporic voices in Britain remains crucial to inclusivity and is now more important than ever.’
