Miles Morland Writing Scholarships

The FT/OppenheimerFunds Emerging Voices awards will recognise the most inventive and creative fiction writers, film-makers and artists from emerging market countries in Africa and the Middle East, Asia-Pacific and Latin America or the Caribbean.

Open to nationals or passport holders of these countries, panels of distinguished judges will give awards to the best creators of published fiction in English or English translation in Africa, the top film-makers in Asia-Pacific and the most distinguished artists in a variety of media in Latin America or the Caribbean.

The PEN International/New Voices Award encourages new writing in the countries in which we operate, and provides a much needed space for young and unpublished writers to promote their work. The award actively encourages entries from diverse linguistic regions and communities.

The award is open to unpublished writers aged 18-30. The young writers must be nominated by their local PEN Centre: PEN International cannot receive entries directly from candidates.

The Dream Quest One Poetry & Writing Contest is international, open to anyone who enjoys expressing innermost thoughts and feelings into the beautiful literary art of poetry and/or writing a story that’s worth telling everyone. CODE Burt Award for Caribbean Literature

Burt Award for Caribbean Literature is an annual Award that will be given to three English-language literary works for Young Adults (aged 12 through 18) written by Caribbean authors. A First Prize of $10,000 CAD, a Second Prize of $7,000 CAD and a Third Prize of $5,000 CAD will be awarded to the winning authors. Publishers of winning titles will be awarded a guaranteed purchase of up to 2,000 copies, which will be donated to schools, libraries and literacy organizations throughout the region so young Caribbean readers can enjoy them.

Published books, previously self-published books, and unpublished manuscripts are eligible for the Award. Eligible books and unpublished manuscripts can be submitted to the Bocas Lit Fest by publishers registered and operating in the Caribbean. Unpublished manuscripts or previously self-published books can also be submitted by authors directly to the Bocas Lit Fest.
